"The James Webb Space Telescope: A Success Story at the Frontier of Astrophysics"
Speaker: Luis Colina Robledo
(Profesor de Investigación del CAB-INTA, CSIC, Madrid)
Abstract: The James Webb Space Telecope: The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is the most ambitious space observatory ever led by NASA,
with international participation from several European research institutions and the space agencies of Europe and Canada. This talk will provide
an overview of the history of the project, its different development phases, the European and Spanish contributions, and its scientific goals across
various areas of astrophysics.
In addition, a brief review will be presented of some of the most remarkable—and unexpected—results obtained so far, particularly in the study
of the formation and evolution of the first galaxies and massive black holes in the Universe.
